Wend is the most interesting new idea in this category, and one of its principles is one we wish we'd shipped first: a source on every fact. Wend captures from your conversations, email, and calendar, re-researches your contacts on the public web monthly, and exposes the result to whatever AI you already use over MCP — and it shows you where each claim came from. That is a genuinely better answer to "why does my CRM think this?" than most of the field manages. Two caveats we have to be straight about: Wend is in private beta behind a waitlist, so we have not used it and nothing here is a hands-on verdict; and the whole design depends on your relationship data living on Wend's servers, because that is where the capture, the research, and the MCP endpoint run. If that trade reads as fine to you, Wend is a serious tool.
Where does my data live with Wend versus Endearist?
Wend: hosted, US-based. The capture pipeline, the monthly web research, and the MCP endpoint all run server-side, so your conversation history and contact graph have to be there for the product to work at all. Endearist: your device first — sync optional via your own cloud (Google Drive, iCloud, WebDAV) or Endearist Cloud (EU-hosted).
How does each tool access AI?
This is the sharpest difference between us. Wend is AI-native: the AI reads everything, continuously, and Wend's value is what it infers. Endearist inverts it — nothing is sent anywhere unless you opt in, and when you do, it runs against your own key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) from your device. Wend's MCP server is the better answer if you want your assistant to query your network conversationally; ours is the better answer if you want the assistant to see only what you hand it, one action at a time. Wend Max: $14.99/month, with a free tier below it and a 14-day Max trial. Over 3 years on Max: ~€540. Endearist Free: €0. Endearist Pro Lifetime: €69 once. Endearist Pro Cloud: €9.99/month (~€360 over 3 years). Wend's free tier is real, so a light user may pay nothing at either shop — the gap only opens if you want the AI layer, which is the whole point of Wend.
What doesn't Endearist do?
We don't capture your email and calendar automatically, we don't research your contacts on the public web, and we don't run an MCP server over your relationship data. The first is a real gap and we say so. The second is a decision: re-researching a private individual monthly means building a dossier on someone who never agreed to it, and we're not comfortable shipping that even when it's useful. The third follows from the second — an MCP endpoint over your network is only possible once the network is on a server.

When to pick Wend
When is Wend the better choice?
Pick Wend if the thing that kills every personal CRM for you is data entry, and you'd rather an AI kept the record than keep it yourself. It is the only tool in this category that connects your network to the assistant you already use over MCP, and the source-on-every-fact discipline means you can check what it inferred instead of trusting it blindly. That combination is a real answer to a real problem, and if it works as described it will beat manual note-keeping on completeness every time. The trade is total: continuous capture and monthly web research only work if your conversations and your contact graph live on Wend's servers, readable. If that's an acceptable price for a record that maintains itself, take it — we'd rather you chose deliberately than discovered it later. We're the opposite bet: less automatic, less complete, and yours.
Switching
How do I switch from Wend to Endearist?
Wend is in private beta, so this is guidance rather than a tested route. If you're on the waitlist and weighing both, the practical move is to keep your address book somewhere neutral — a vCard or CSV export from Google Contacts, Apple Contacts, or Outlook — and import that into Endearist via Settings → Import. That way neither tool owns your starting point. If you do trial Wend and want to leave later, ask for a full export before you cancel and check what format the inferred history comes out in; a record that only exists inside somebody's model is the one that doesn't migrate. We'll update this page with a real migration path once Wend opens up and we can test it.
