Roadmap

What we're building. And what we won't.

Most roadmaps only show what is still to come. The more interesting half is the other one: the things we could build and have decided not to.

The obvious thing first: Endearist has not launched. There is no download, the waitlist is the way in, and this page says what you would be waiting for. There are no dates here, on purpose — a roadmap with dates is a promise, this is a direction, and a slipped date costs more trust than vagueness ever does. Four columns: what is in v1, what comes next, what comes after that, and what we will deliberately never build.

This is v1

The scope of the first release. Endearist is not publicly available yet — there is nothing to download so far, and the way in is the waitlist.

  • Local storage on every device

    The primary copy of your data sits on your device, not on our server. Native apps for iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, and Linux.

  • Warmth, not pipeline

    A warmth score per person and a cadence you set per person. Gentle reminders, no streaks.

  • Relationship journal

    A line or a paragraph per encounter, searchable, with a weekly ritual. Exports as plain Markdown, readable in any editor.

  • AI with your own key

    Optional. Add an OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini key and requests run from your device. Without a key everything still works, just without AI.

  • Address-book import

    vCard and CSV from Google Contacts, Apple Contacts, and Outlook. Read-only calendar sync for birthdays and appointments.

  • People who belong together

    Pets, kids, and families are first-class fields, not custom ones. Dunbar's middle circle belongs together, so we model it that way.

Straight after v1

What gets worked on next. Ordered by intent, not by commitment.

  • Launch and checkout

    Today every buy button routes to the waitlist. The first step after v1 is the public launch with real checkout for Pro Lifetime, Pro Cloud Light, and Pro Cloud.

  • Capture from your local calendar

    The one real gap against the rest of the category. Who you met is already in your calendar, and your calendar is already on your device. Reading it needs no server, which is exactly why we want to.

  • End-to-end encrypted sync via your cloud

    AES-256-GCM against Google Drive, iCloud, or WebDAV. You hold the key; we cannot read the contents even if we wanted to.

  • Conversation prep, locally

    Before you meet someone, a summary of where you left off — with your key, from your own notes. Without anyone researching the person.

Wanted, but not next. The order can change if enough people ask for the same thing.

  • Multi-vault and family sharing beyond two seats

    Pro Cloud includes family sharing for two today. Separate vaults — work and private side by side — come later.

  • Natural-language search over your network

    "Who do I know who has moved house?" — with your key, against your local database. Technically possible, but only useful once there are enough notes.

  • Business-card scanning

    Covve and Dextr do this and we do not. It sits away from the core — the people who matter most never handed you a card — but it gets asked for.

  • Self-hosting

    Today the desktop app is itself the local store, so a server of your own is not needed. For people who want one anyway, we are keeping the option open.

None of these are a question of priorities. They are decided.

This column is the point of the page. None of it is new — every line already appears in the manifesto or the privacy pages. It is here because this is where people comparing tools will actually read it.

  • Ads, tracking, resale

    We do not sell your data, we do not rent it, and we do not build a profile from your behaviour. The app makes money by you buying it.

  • Public-web research on your contacts

    Several rivals re-research the people in your address book on the web every month. That is a dossier on someone who never agreed to it. We will not build it, useful or not.

  • A sales pipeline for your friendships

    No Kanban, no deal stages, no conversion rate on people. The warmth score is per person, never per deal.

  • Streaks, badges, FOMO

    An app that punishes you for skipping a day has stopped serving you. Endearist earns five minutes and then gets out of the way.

  • A quiet acquisition

    If we are ever acquired or shut down, the source is released under an open licence. Clay was bought by Automattic in June 2025 and rebranded to Mesh in 2026 — this is no longer a hypothetical.

  • A format you cannot leave

    Plain-Markdown export, any time, behind no paywall. If you leave you take everything, including if you leave for a rival.
