Mesh is one of the most polished mobile relationship apps available — its onboarding, daily prompts, and contact-photo aesthetic set the bar in the category. If you live on your phone and value a beautiful UI more than data control, Mesh is a defensible choice and we'll say so. Endearist is being built for people who want a comparable experience but with local-first storage and a proposed buy-once option (with an optional Pro Cloud subscription proposed for managed sync) — none of which can be bought yet, while Mesh is usable today. Endearist is not publicly available yet. The launch list is a notification signup, not app access or a purchase. Platforms and capabilities have separate release approvals.
Where does my data live with Mesh versus Endearist?
Mesh: hosted on Mesh's US servers (AWS). Endearist: not publicly available yet. The primary copy is intended to stay on your device. End-to-end encrypted sync over storage you run yourself — a local or shared folder, or a WebDAV server — is planned for v1. Google Drive as a destination is not decided yet. Managed sync on Endearist Cloud is planned for after v1, as part of the Pro Cloud subscription only.
How does each tool access AI?
Mesh has AI-powered note summaries and message suggestions, processed on Mesh's servers using third-party LLM APIs. Endearist's AI features are planned as opt-in: run with your own key, or as managed AI in a proposed Pro Cloud subscription. AI with your own key: not publicly available yet. Status: planned for v1. Mesh Personal: free, credit card required (up to 1,000 contacts). Mesh Pro: $10/month billed monthly, roughly half that on annual billing — ~€325 over 3 years monthly, ~€160 annual. Mesh Team: $40/seat/month, 4-seat minimum. Mesh Enterprise: custom. No lifetime tier. What doesn't Endearist do?
We don't have Mesh's social-feed-style timeline of contact updates, or its photo-album-of-relationships layout. The Mesh UI is genuinely beautiful and we don't try to match it pixel-for-pixel. We prioritise data ownership, a proposed one-time price, and a journal-like quietness over a maximalist visual layer.

When to pick Mesh
When is Mesh the better choice?
If you live on your phone and value polished design and gentle daily prompts above data control, Mesh is the most beautiful app in this category. The contact-photo aesthetic and feed-style timeline are genuinely delightful. At the 25 September 2026 source check, Mesh listed iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, web. Check the official app and download pages for current availability. Pick Mesh if you want the best-looking personal CRM, are comfortable with US-hosted cloud, and don't care about owning your data or paying a forever subscription. Mesh is also usable today, and Endearist is not. We're building a different shape of product — quieter, less feed-shaped, with a proposed buy-once plan that cannot be purchased yet — and Mesh's daily-prompt UX is a fair reason to choose them.
Switching
How do I switch from Mesh to Endearist?
Mesh's export is currently a support-ticket process — you email their support and they send you a JSON or CSV within a few business days. Endearist is not released yet, so keep that file for now: file import is planned for the app, but a dedicated Mesh importer and how notes, contact photos, reminders, and feed posts would carry over have not been verified. vCard and CSV import: not publicly available yet. Status: planned for v1.
