Who is this path for?

People carrying a stay-or-go question they have been turning over for months without moving, in a relationship or a friendship.

How should I work through this path?

This path will not tell you what to do, and any path that claimed to would be lying. What it does is separate the questions that are actually tangled together: whether the problem is fixable, whether both people want to fix it, and whether you want to be the person who tries. Most stalled decisions are stalled because those three are being answered as one. Take it slowly and write your answers down rather than holding them in your head — the value is in seeing your own reasoning across a week rather than inside a bad evening. If you are in crisis right now, this is the wrong week for it. Two failure modes worth naming before you start. The first is deciding in a single evening, usually a bad one: a decision made at the peak of an argument is a reaction, and it will be relitigated within a week. The second is treating the absence of a decision as neutral. Staying while undecided is itself a choice, and it has a cost that accrues quietly to both people. If you get to the end of this path and still cannot answer, that is a real result — it usually means one of the three questions has not actually been tested yet, and the modules will tell you which. A word on reading it alone. This path is deliberately written for one person, because working a stay-or-go question through together turns it into a negotiation, and negotiations do not answer this question — they postpone it.
