Who is this path for?

People who do not have a conflict problem so much as a being-understood problem — the conversations are calm and somehow still miss.

How should I work through this path?

This is the most practise-dependent path here. Reading about listening changes nothing; the modules are short on purpose so the time goes into using them. Take one, then deliberately run it in a low-stakes conversation the same week — with a colleague, a friend, anyone where nothing is riding on it. Skills learned only in hard conversations do not stick, because a hard conversation is the worst possible classroom. Expect to feel artificial at first. Every one of these techniques feels stilted for about a week and then stops being a technique. If you can only do one thing from this path, make it the module on reflecting back before responding. Two things this path deliberately does not do. It does not give you phrases to repeat, because borrowed phrasing is audible and lands worse than plain speech. And it does not treat communication as the cause of every problem — some disagreements are about the thing being disagreed about, and no amount of skilled phrasing resolves a genuine conflict of interest. Knowing which kind you are in is itself one of the modules, and it is the one that saves the most wasted effort.

Part 1

Opening
