Cloze is the original "AI personal assistant" — it pulls together every inbox you have (email, calendar, LinkedIn, Twitter, iMessage) into one contact-centric view, then surfaces signals about who you should follow up with. It's been around since 2014, has a loyal user base, and the iOS app is genuinely useful for people who run their lives out of email. Cloze's trade-off is that its value depends on it reading everything — your email, calendar, social DMs — and storing the resulting graph on Cloze's US servers. Endearist is being built on the opposite trade-off: it is designed not to ingest your inboxes, so it knows less about you by default, but you also know exactly what it knows. Endearist is not publicly available yet. The launch list is a notification signup, not app access or a purchase. Platforms and capabilities have separate release approvals.
Where does my data live with Cloze versus Endearist?
Cloze: cloud-only, hosted on US servers. Cloze ingests email, calendar, LinkedIn, Twitter, and iMessage metadata to build its relationship graph — that data sits in Cloze's database. Endearist: not publicly available yet. The primary copy is intended to stay on your device. End-to-end encrypted sync over storage you run yourself — a local or shared folder, or a WebDAV server — is planned for v1. Google Drive as a destination is not decided yet. Managed sync on Endearist Cloud is planned for after v1, as part of the Pro Cloud subscription only.
How does each tool access AI?
Cloze's AI reads your aggregated inbox data continuously on its US servers to score follow-up urgency, detect signals (job changes, mentions), and draft replies. The model runs on Cloze infrastructure with full inbox context. Endearist's AI is planned as strictly opt-in: your own key, or managed AI in a proposed Pro Cloud subscription. It is designed never to read your email at all. AI with your own key: not publicly available yet. Status: planned for v1. What do Cloze and Endearist cost over three years?
Cloze Pro: $19.99/month month-to-month, or $17/month billed annually — about €15/month, so roughly €525 over 3 years. Cloze Business Silver: $24.99/month, or $21/user/month billed annually — about €18/month, roughly €648 over 3 years. Endearist cannot be bought yet; its proposed prices are Pro Cloud (with managed AI) at €9.99/month (~€360 over 3 years) and Pro Lifetime at €69 once. Converted at the ECB reference rate of 2026-08-25 (1 USD = €0.857); the vendor prices in dollars, so your euro cost moves with the rate. What doesn't Endearist do?
We don't auto-ingest email, calendar, or social DMs. We don't score follow-up urgency from inbox signals. We don't build a relationship graph from your communications. If you want a tool that reads everything and surfaces who needs attention, Cloze does this better than anyone — but you're paying for it with a US-hosted copy of your entire communication history.

When to pick Cloze
When is Cloze the better choice?
If your life genuinely runs out of email and calendar, and you're comfortable with a US-hosted AI reading every inbox you have to surface follow-up suggestions, Cloze is hard to beat — its decade-plus of feature accretion gives it a depth no startup matches. Pick Cloze when you want the strongest auto-aggregation in the category and you can pay $17-29/month indefinitely. We're building Endearist — not released yet — for people who want the relationship layer separate from the inbox, not auto-derived from it.
Switching
How do I switch from Cloze to Endearist?
From Cloze: export your contacts as CSV or vCard (Settings → Export). Endearist is not released yet, so keep that file for now: CSV and vCard import is planned for the app, but how Cloze fields map to Endearist fields has not been verified. Cloze's communication-derived fields (last contact, frequency scores) won't migrate — those are recomputed by Cloze each day and don't exist as stable data. Notes you wrote yourself are in the export; AI-generated signal summaries aren't. Many people keep Cloze running on the side for inbox triage either way. vCard and CSV import: not publicly available yet. Status: planned for v1.
