Generated follow-up cadence

  1. Day 1Send a specific first message
  2. Day 7Follow up only if there is a useful next step
  3. Day 21Close the loop or set a later reminder

First-message batches

12 = 12

Up to 20 messages per batch. This is a workload split, not an effectiveness claim.

Editable message template

Optional suggestion: Add one detail from your notes before sending. Skip any step that has no useful reason.

A worked example: 41 warm conference contacts

Choose conference, enter 41 contacts, select warm, and choose “continue the conversation.” The planner proposes messages on day 1, a useful follow-up on day 7, and a final close-the-loop decision on day 21. It splits the first pass into batches of 20, 20 and 1; that split manages workload and makes no claim about results.

Edit the bracketed name and topic for each recipient. If no real detail or next step exists, skip the message. For a messy export, clean it first with the contact deduplicator; for deciding who deserves attention first, use the contact priorities calculator.

What the planner does—and does not do

The cadence is a transparent editorial suggestion driven by your classification. It does not predict replies, score people, upload contact data or send anything. The message remains editable because a template cannot know what you discussed. If you need a long-term rhythm for existing friends instead, use the friend contact cadence calculator.

How this planner was built

This is an editorial planning aid, not a tested sales sequence. The cadence changes only from the classification you choose; event type and goal change the draft wording, and contact count splits the first pass into batches of no more than 20. Those are transparent workload suggestions, not claims about response rates. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is submitted, stored or sent automatically.

Frequently asked questions

How soon should I follow up after a networking event?
Start from the relationship signal, not a universal rule. This planner suggests day 0 for a contact with an agreed next step, day 1 for a useful conversation without a commitment, and day 2 for a brief introduction. These are optional editorial defaults, not measured guarantees. Change or skip a step when there is no useful reason to write.
What do hot, warm and cold mean in this planner?
Hot means you agreed on a specific next step. Warm means the conversation was useful but ended without a commitment. Cold means you only exchanged a brief introduction. The labels describe the interaction you had, not the person’s value or their likelihood of replying. Choose the closest fit and edit the generated message if the conversation was unusual.
Should I use email or LinkedIn?
Use the channel the other person offered or already used with you. If they gave you an email for the next step, write there. If you met through an online community and have no email, a short message on that platform is reasonable. Do not send the same first message on several channels at once; the planner leaves the channel choice to you.
Are my contacts or messages uploaded?
No. The tool asks only for a total contact count and category choices. The editable message stays in this browser tab, and the copy button puts it on your own clipboard. There is no contact upload, account, storage or automated sending. Replace the bracketed placeholders locally before you use the draft in your own email or messaging app.
