Endearist Paths

Family of Origin Work

15 modules · 2 hours · Intermediate

A learning path for adult children of emotionally immature parents: name the pattern, find your own side of it, and run contact on terms that hold.

OutcomeStop asking for a capacity the other person does not have, and go into each interaction with a specific achievable goal instead of the hope of finally being understood.

Who is this path for?

Adults who notice they behave differently within four hours of arriving at their parents' house, and would like to know why.

How should I work through this path?

This is the path most likely to surface something you were not looking for, so give it more room than its module count suggests. Read it away from the family if you can; proximity makes honest reflection unusually hard. The modules are ordered from pattern-spotting to boundary-setting, and that order is worth keeping — deciding what to change before you can see clearly what the pattern is tends to produce a confrontation rather than a change. This path is also the one where it is most reasonable to stop and take something to a therapist instead. That is not a failure of the path; some material is better worked through with a professional, and knowing which is part of the work.
